About
Welcome to Palmer Culinary Group, where passion, tradition, and heart come together at the table.
Founded in the summer of 2026 by Thomas Palmer, our story began at the historic Firefighters Memorial Hall in Providence, Rhode Island. While our restaurant officially opened its doors then, the dream had been simmering long before.
We set out with a simple yet ambitious vision: reimagine classic American tavern food from the ground up. Traditional bar food is usually mass-produced, frozen, and processed. At Palmer Culinary Group, we toss out the shortcuts. Every dish is crafted entirely from scratch using real, wholesome ingredients—delivering the comforting, bold flavors of standard bar fare while bringing true quality and real nutritional value back to every plate. We proudly serve North Providence with fresh, never-frozen food made to nourish both body and soul.
Fueled by Heart, Driven by Second Chances
At the core of our kitchen is a story of resilience, growth, and deep family connection.
Palmer Culinary Group is proudly Black-owned and operated by Thomas and his youngest son, Jamiel. Both Thomas and Jamiel share a powerful journey of personal recovery and transformation. Their path of overcoming life’s hurdles fuels the warmth, discipline, and authenticity that define our team every day. For us, food is more than sustenance—it is a celebration of family, healing, and new beginnings.
Rooted in Providence
We believe a restaurant should be a home for the neighborhood it serves. Proudly rooted in Providence, our mission extends far beyond our kitchen walls. We are dedicated to lifting up the local community across North Providence by providing accessible, fresh, scratch-made food, supporting local initiatives, and fostering a welcoming space where everyone feels like family.
When you dine with us, you aren't just getting a great meal—you are sharing in a movement that celebrates community, heritage, and the beauty of starting fresh.
Welcome to our table.
